Synopsis
Fast. That’s how I like life, especially my two great joys: bikes and women. I’m committed to exclusively riding one, but not the other. Until April. A sexy-arse freelance photographer who’s travelled the world, and doesn’t do long walks on the beach or romantic candlelit dinners. She enjoys running with the bulls and food spicy enough to make your hair fall out. If that weren’t enough to get me hard, she rides a mean mother of a motorcycle. I’ve gotta have a taste of this wildcat.
~Spencer (Jones)
I don’t do fast. Not anymore. I’ve got my career, my independence, and since I fled Spain to come back home I promised myself that I wouldn’t be put second—or third, for that matter—again. Then I meet pretty boy Spencer. He’s smooth, oozing the most potent pheromones probably known to modern science, and he’s making a move on me. One kiss was almost enough for my promise to dissolve. My head says no—my treacherous body screams yes. I’m gonna make Spencer work for it. Make him fight for the chance to have me, because I know that deep down I’m worth it.
~April MacIntyre
Prologue
SPENCER (JONES)
My head pounds, alerting me to the fact that I’m alive. Barely. I run my hand over my bare chest to find a set of fingers clad with rings. The hand tightens, sharp nails scratching my skin as they sweep over my ribs. I shudder with the realisation that she’s still here. That was not part of the plan. Her hand continues over to my hipbone, and curls around my side. I turn to see her face buried in the pillow beside me, a cascade of fiery red curls tangled down her back, a strong contrast to her pale skin. I strain to lift my head off the pillow, and there he is. Ryan. On the far edge of my king-sized bed, face down, bare arse and all. I’m here again. My life on repeat. My liver screams out its hate for me, and my body aches in silent protest. And why the fuck is my arse sore? I wriggle to release myself from her hold. I don’t like them to stay, but Ryan and I were obviously too fucked-up to care. I must’ve passed out, because normally I deal with their exit. I don’t do mornings. I don’t do awkward. I like simple hook-ups, and then “see ya”; No expectations, no complications. This here looks complicated. Walking naked across my bedroom, the floor littered with condom wrappers and clothes, I pick up a rogue black leather shoe and throw it at Ryan’s arse. He chokes on his snore, and stirs. “Hey, what the fuck, man?” He rolls over, thankfully tugging the tangled sheets with him to shield his dick. I don’t need a vision of his giant cock in the back of my head today. “What’s up is that you and Princess Redhead need to leave, buddy. I gotta get to work,” I whisper loudly. Working for Dad today is totally gonna blow. Ryan swings his legs off the bed, and stretches his arms over his head. “Well, you never fail to disappoint, man. Guess I’ll catch ya next time I’m in town.” I take a white crumpled towel that I must have left on the floor yesterday and wrap it around my hips. “That depends, mate. If you’re the reason my arse is sore, then this was the last time. Oh, and you might just get the shit kicked out of you.” He chuckles quietly to himself. “You don’t remember?” He grabs his jeans from the floor in front of him, and slips them on. “Remember what?” Oh no. Ryan did not go there. I’ll kill him. On instinct, my teeth grind against each other, and I breathe out heavily through my nose as I stalk towards him. He holds up a hand. “Relax,” he says, as he juts his chin towards the redhead. “Miss Ginger Sex Fiend over there brought toys.” “Fuck,” I gasp. I’ve seriously gotta lay off the drink. “Now, get outta here. I’ll take care of Ginger.” Ryan winks, and runs his hands through his mussed up sandy-coloured hair. Yeah. I need to get to work. Synopsis
SarahBeth Pearson has made mistakes, and I might just be the biggest one of them all. After spending months keeping secrets and lying to everyone close to us, it’s all fallen apart and we are each left alone to pick up the pieces. I’ve loved SarahBeth in one form or another her entire life. The steps that brought us closer together weren’t easy for me to take. After letting her dictate our relationship, I’ve found myself practically homeless and estranged from my closest friends. Now I’m left trying to move on, finding a new place to live and getting everything I need in order, while she’s trying to mend her broken heart. There’s just one problem…SarahBeth’s still keeping secrets - and her secret just might change everything.

Excerpt
"Isn't that SarahBeth?" Melanie asks, looking over to where a small blonde and a brunette are running towards a hallway between stores that leads to restrooms. I jerk around in my seat, trying to look closer and when I see Tyler watching after them, holding a purse and a few shopping bags, I know for sure it's them. At my nod, Mel touches my hand, bringing my gaze back to her earnest one. "Don't you want to go check on her? Make sure she's alright?" Do I want to? Yes, absolutely. Should I? Well, that's another matter entirely. I look back to the corridor they disappeared through, but don’t see them any longer. Just when I'm about to tell her no, I don't want to check on her, Tyler's eyes meet mine and the blatant worry in them has me nodding and heading in his direction. I don't look back to see if Melanie followed me because honestly, all I can think about is what could possibly put that look in Tyler's eyes. "Is she okay?" It's all I can do to keep my voice level when I reach him and ask the question I need the answer to the most. Tyler's looking everywhere but at me when he replies, "Yeah mate, she's fine. You can go back to whatever you were doing now." His voice is hard, it's easy to tell he's not happy at finding me with Mel, but his feelings aren't what worry me now. Before I can ask any more questions, Olivia and Sarah are walking back in our direction. They both stop in their tracks when they see me standing with Tyler. The moment she notices Melanie standing next to me her already pale skin loses all color and she begins backing up, away from our little group. The hurt in her eyes has me moving towards her before I can even process it. I want to explain myself. When what I'm doing registers, I stop, trying to keep myself in place, but when her eyes fill with tears and they overflow, rolling soundlessly down her cheeks, I melt. Reaching her, I cup her face in my hands, brushing away the tears as she trembles beneath me. It's the first time I've really touched her since everything went to shit and having my hands on her, having her this close to me, I feel like I've come home. Unable to hide the emotions racing across my face, I let her see just how much I've missed her as her breath catches in her throat. Her eyes are bouncing back and forth between mine in disbelief while the look on her face has me aching to touch my mouth to hers, to pull her into me so I can hold her. I don't get the chance to do any of that because at the same time a hand touches my back, SarahBeth sucks in a breath and steps back, her eyes brimming with tears even while she glares up at me, betrayal all over her face. I want to explain, to tell her what I'm doing here with Mel, to reassure her that it's not what it seems, but in the back of my head I think this is a good thing. I want her to let go of me, to begin to move on, to find someone that deserves her. Letting her think I've replaced her, no matter how much it hurts us both, is probably for the best. "Wait SarahBeth," Melanie begins as I step away from her touch. Instead, I grab the hand that was on my back and link our fingers together, this draws both her eyes and SarahBeth's. Mel's looks confused, but SarahBeth's guts me. She stares at our linked hands with an expression that's a cross between fury and despair before swiping her hands across her cheeks to brush away the few falling tears, and meeting my gaze head on. Her eyes are sparking with a fire I haven't seen in so long that I'm almost relieved. As she straightens her spine and holds her head high. she turns to Mel and smiles. Just barely tipping the corners of her lips up her smile is clearly fake but there nonetheless, she says, "It's fine really. I'm glad he has someone." Mel starts to speak up, but SarahBeth keeps her eyes on me as Olivia walks up beside her, puts an arm around her shoulder and glares at me. If looks could kill...that girl hates me. She starts to say something in her ear, but Sarah shakes her head. "There's nothing to say. I'm done with this," with that said she scoots out from under Olivia's arm and turns her back on me, this time I'm sure for good, and leaves me to watch her walk away from me this time. Tyler hurries to walk after them, muttering, "You're a bloody idiot mate," as he passes me. He doesn't get far before he stops, turns around and glares at me, much like Olivia did. "If you only knew..." he shakes his head, "Well, that would have gone a lot differently." I don't get the chance to ask him what he means before he heads after them, dropping an arm across each of their shoulders and handing the bags he was holding to Olivia.

Review!!--Let's Misbehave

Why hello again so soon!! So immediately after I finished my review for Lost in Love (which I finished last night), I purchased and started on Let's Misbehave (Book 3 in the Summerhill Series).

**For some reason the graphics aren't working in the previous post like they were yesterday, hopefully it's just a problem on my end, but if you see it please let me know!!**

**DISCLAIMER: Lost in Love was provided to me by AToMR in exchange for my honest opinion**

For now on to the review!!

Imogen Summerhill, box office darling, has never wanted to be in the spotlight less.

When racy photos--and video!--are leaked by her sleazy ex, her studio couldn't be happier. All press is good press, and this will only enhance the intrigue about her upcoming blockbuster. But how is Gigi supposed to be taken seriously as an actress with all this inappropriate buzz? She's Cate Blanchett, not Kim Kardashian.

But then Gigi meets Merrick Graham, the Bad Boy of Politics. The last thing either of them wants is to be tainted by more scandal: he needs the support of the conservatives, and she wants to untarnish her image.

Only they can't resist each other--separately they're good, but in the bedroom they're even better. They can't be seen together in public, but in private all's fair game, and there's plenty of room to misbehave...

Chapter One

Imogen looked at the butter knife in her hand and wondered if it was long enough to pierce a man’s heart.
Probably not. Dirk Ranger’s heart was so small it was probably buried deep in his chest cavity, under layers of conceit and hubris. She’d need a sword to get to it. A sword was better anyway—after puncturing his heart, she could cut off his balls.
Heaving a sigh, Gigi set the knife aside and put the slice of toast down. There was no telling how old the bread was. Her sister Titania wasn’t great at stocking her kitchen. Besides, Gigi wasn’t supposed to eat it—she had to be fit for her next role.
Not that she had one.
She hadn’t worked in weeks, and it was driving her mad.
The last time she’d been on set had been in December. She’d taken a few weeks off on purpose: her father had died and she’d come home to be with her family.
Only then the scandal had broke.
Scandal was such an innocuous, archaic word for what had happened. Violation gave a more accurate tenor for how she felt after Dirk had sold nude pictures of her to the tabloids. Livid described her after he’d released the video.
How could she have been so stupid? That was what bothered her most.
She’d needed to take a few weeks to regain her footing, but she’d started looking for her next gig in January. Only then the video had been released and she’d taken a tactical retreat, to let it fade into history.
That hadn’t happened.
But hiding in her ancestral home was overrated. She was crazed from boredom. She hadn’t been this idle since . . . Well, never.
She paced the kitchen. She had to take action now, because obviously things weren’t going to change on their own, not to mention that waiting wasn’t her style. She’d been working every day since she flew to Hollywood when she was eighteen. Being leisurely wasn’t in her skillset.
Frankly, she was surprised Franny hadn’t packed her up and sent her back to Hollywood yet. She’d been driving everyone at home to distraction with her restlessness.
Shaking her head, she went back into the living room and took out the contents of her purse until she found her mobile. Calculating the time difference first, she called her agent in Los Angeles.
Betty answered on the first ring. “Imogen, I was just about to call you.”
Gigi rolled her eyes. “Excellent. Tell me you found a project for me.”
“I have, in fact.”
“Fantastic.” She began to pace in the living room. “Email it to me right away and I’ll start reading.”
“You don’t need to read it. It’s a remake of a classic. This is a slam dunk. This movie is made for you.”
Gigi frowned as she folded her legs under her on the couch. “Ten years ago when you first agreed to rep me, you told me that the mistake most actors made was taking whatever roles came their way, and that it’d behoove me to be selective.”
“I’m pretty sure I’ve never used the word behoove in my life.”
“That’s not the point. The point is that you haven’t read the script.”
“Sometimes, Imogen, you have to take the ball and run with it, and this is one of those times.”
She shook her head. “Why are you using all these basketball analogies? You don’t even like sports.”
“What are you talking about? I love sports.”
“Since when?”
“Since I’ve been wooing a couple of the guys on the Lakers to sign a deal for a reality show.”
Gigi rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t help smiling.
“But we’re talking about you, and you’re hot stuff right now,” Betty continued. “Have you seen the box office numbers from your latest movie? It’s been three weeks, and it’s still in the top ten. I know Dirk was a dick, but he did you a favor when he released that video of you. Your career has skyrocketed since.”
“I’m not pleased that it’s because of a sex video instead of my acting.” All her life, she’d wanted to be a modern Sarah Bernhardt. Mostly it’d been for herself, because acting was in her soul, but partly it was to prove her father’s predictions of her future wrong. Now it seemed like maybe he hadn’t been so far off.
That killed her.
“What the hell does it matter why you’re popular?” Betty asked in her pragmatic way. “Just roll with it. The studio wants to pay you more than you’ve ever received to be in this movie. We call this a win, Imogen.”
“Do we?” She wasn’t convinced.

Imogen Summerhill wanted nothing more than to be a serious Oscar contending actress, when her ex-boyfriend Dirk sent that dream crashing directly into Kim Kardashian territory. She thought that taking those photos and making that video would help her stale relationship. She never thought the man she loved would use them to further his floundering career. Licking her wounds back home in London, Imogen hears of a possible role with Russell Sherman, a man whose lead actresses always win the Oscar following. Only thing is that Sherman and his backers won't take a risk on Imogen considering her current scandal. Using her reputation as a hardworking actress, she convinces Sherman to give her three weeks to prove that she is a "good girl". Only right after that conversation, she comes face to face with the hot guy who had caught her eye when she walked into the event.

Merrick Graham is a serious politician now. Trying to rid himself of the "Bad Boy of Politics" title due to his past as a Ricky Hazard, sexy lead singer of Total Goes Wild. Ever since the murder of his sister, he has been trying to get a safety act passed and must earn the vote of the conservatives. So when he sees Imogen for the first time, his inner tiger wants her and wants her bad. Too bad she is the last thing that could help him get that vote. She took his breath away and when he bumps into her, a nice plan on his best friend Valerie's part, he can't stop himself from following her.

When Imogen's new handler Holly slips her Merrick's personal cell she is unsuccessful in talking herself out of reaching out to him. The passion was evident from the first moment they saw each other. Imogen brings out the Ricky side of Merrick, a side he buried along with his sister. A side he didn't know he missed truly until he met her. They each have a vested interest in keeping this relationship a secret but when it comes out, will they fall apart or will a tiger claims his mate?  And when Imogen finds out who leaked the information, will she be able to trust anyone again or will people's constant betrayal stand in the way?

--If I hadn't had to wake up early to go on a set this morning I would have finished the book in one sitting. It was very good!! From Portia's story I felt a connection to Imogen and was happy to live out her story. Merrick and Imogen immediately had chemistry and the way they circled each other, like a female teasing a male tiger in the wild until he pounces and takes her. The relationship between the sisters is sweet as well and I love still getting to see the other sisters from the previous books and continue to live their story.

One again in this story you get two! You also get Holly's story. Holly is a single mother whose son is always getting in trouble for being a smart, imaginative and creative child. He loves robotics and building things sometimes at the expense of expensive things and the school's windows. When Peter, Jamie's hot and tempting headteacher, suggests that Holly send Jamie to a special school for advanced children the price tag scares her. Her family wants nothing to do with her since she got pregnant and the father was a one night stand never to be seen again. Peter wants to be the man in Holly's life, but after seven years of being on her own can she let him in? **Jamie was soo cute! I hope to see them in future books**

Book four Titania's story will be available on June 23, 2014

Review!! Lost in Love

So I've been quite absent from reviewing for a while and for that I do apologize! I moved to Los Angeles (drove here from Maryland) and have been trying to find a job. It hasn't been easy and I am still looking. I moved from reading to watching television slows on Netflix and Hulu Plus--but I am back!! J

A book I was scheduled to review a while ago was first on the list! I just picked it randomly but am soo glad that I did. Enough banter…on to the review! ENJOY

AToMR Tours

Portia Summerhill feels like a loser.
Thirty-something, jobless, and living at home… How could she not? Next to her accomplished sisters, Portia’s achievements—or lack thereof—are that much more noticeable.
The one thing Portia can claim is expert knowledge on antiques and her ancestry, and in a moment of serendipity, the perfect job lands in her lap: curator at the Museum of British Peerage. There’s one caveat: the museum won’t hire her unless she brings the family jewels with her. Or, more specifically, the infamous Summerhill tiara.
Except a cowboy hotelier stands between her and her tiara. Jackson Waite needs help getting his newest posh hotel launched and, luckily for Portia, he’s willing to make a trade. If she helps him meet the deadline for his new resort, he’ll give her the tiara. Only, the more time she spends with Jackson, the more Portia wonders if she wants the tiara or the man keeping it from her.
Portia could tell her mother meant business by the staccato of clacking heels echoing through the halls—and she bet that business was her.
She turned her chair away from the door and shrank into herself. With any luck, her mother wouldn’t notice her. She pulled a blanket up to her chin for good measure. There—instant incognito.
“Portia, what are you doing here in the dark?” The Countess of Amberlin glided into the room and flipped a light switch. She looked around the study, her patrician nose wrinkled. “Although not even all the light of heaven can help the gloominess of this room.”
“I like it here,” she said, huddling in the chair. It was her father’s study, and she’d spent many hours in here learning about all the Summerhills through time. Of course, her former delight in the room was eclipsed by the fact that her father had turned out to be a lying cheat.
Nobody was perfect, she guessed. The funk that’d settled over her since New Year’s wrapped around her like the blanket, stifling her.
Her mother came to stand over her.
Portia squirmed under the judgmental scrutiny. Jacqueline Summerhill, the ninth Countess of Amberlin, was perfect in every way: beautiful, a leader in her social circle, stylish, and tireless in her charitable efforts. She was intimidating on a normal day, but standing over you with Joan of Arc’s passion blazing from her eyes, she was doubly intimidating.
Funny—Portia would never have called her mother passionate. Though she wouldn’t have suspected that her mother was behind the mysterious scholarships they’d all received when they’d turned eighteen, either.
“Here.” Jacqueline held out her hand.
Portia looked at the piece of paper. It appeared to be a printout. “What is it?”
Her mother arched her brow. “You could take it and find out.”
She could, but she had a bad feeling about it. A venomous snake would have felt less threatening.
But her curiosity won out, and she took the paper. She glanced at the text, frowning, confused. “This is a job ad.”
“For the Museum of British Peerage,” her mother explained patiently. “They’re searching for a curator.”
“What does that have to do with me?”
“You’re going to apply for the position.”
Bitterness rose up her throat. She’d started the year with such good intentions—to turn her life around into something meaningful. But with each passing day, she’d realized that she didn’t have anything useful to offer the world. “I’m not qualified for this job. They want a degree in antiquities, history, or art.”
“Minor technicalities.” Her mother waved a dismissive hand. “You have something more important than a degree.”
“I do?”
“The Summerhill name.” The Countess of Amberlin stared down at her, daring her to say otherwise. “You have generations of prominent earls backing you. Do you really think you need more for a job at the Museum of British Peerage? You are peerage.”

Portia, thirty-something, still living at home while her sisters, all having accomplished something is still reeling over the death of her father. Not just his death but also the betrayal that he sold the home that she loved so much and he promised to her. Never having had a close relationship with her mother, having been a daddy's girl, she is surprised when her mother brings an ad for a job as curator at the Museum of British Peerage. A job that she would love to do being that she loves history. Having no experience or formal education, she isn't beyond using her name to get her the job if need be. Something her ancestor and role model Catherine Summerhill would have done. With Catherine's pearls around her neck giving her strength and confidence, she strides into the interview. She knows that she can offer much to the position but the weasel (Mr. Wexler) has other plans--A job in exchange for the coveted Summerhill tiara. No tiara, no job! Shouldn't be a problem right? Only the tiara was in the house that her father sold with all of its possessions included. Now Portia must find a way to convince the new owner to give her back the tiara.
Enter Dallas cowboy (not the football team) Jackson Waite.
Jackson Waite has taken over the Waite Hotel Group from his father after he fell ill. Wanting absolutely nothing to do with his fathers company, he wants to invest his money in a water purification system, the last thing he wants to do is go to London to oversee the delay in the turnaround of Suncrest Park. After encountering a prissy British woman, whom he thinks wears "hooker underwear" that he craves more than he has ever craved a woman, Jackson jumps at her offer to detail and sort the possessions of the house in exchange for the tiara. After the first kiss, he was done for.
When he meddling father steps in and takes the tiara, claiming it's too valuable to give to Portia, it has the ability to ruin everything with the woman he loves. Will he be able to get the tiara back and save his relationship or will the tiara being taken and more secrets from his past tear them apart?
You also get a story involving Meredith, having broken off her engagement to Jackson after the news of her breast cancer, she decides that she will live life, whether its for a year or 50 years. When Quinn, a cowboy who is strictly business, spots her bucket list especially the item stating "ORGASM" he decides to help her tick off as many items on that list especially that one. Quinn makes her feel things that she never felt while with Jackson and would love nothing more than to have Quinn give her the first orgasm with a partner. But when she feels another lump, growing daily, she decides that she could never ask him to stay with her through it. He wants to be her forever and she wants to hide away. Will he be able to break her resolve and give her that orgasm and a forever or will she push away the man she is in love with.

--This is the second book in the Summerhill series, with that said I had not read the first one beforehand although I wish I had. You DO NOT have to read them in succession; you could read them independently if you wanted to. The first does detail more about the father and some of the issues that happened before that but you won't be lost if you read the second one first.
I loved this book! Once I started I didn't want to stop and I can't wait to start on book three, Let's Misbehave. I will read book one, Say You Will at some point but I fell in love with Imogen and her story so now I really want to see what happens with her.
